I Wish . . .
Recently, I have been seeing SOOOOO many patients who I just wish had seen a Dietitian long ago. Some have such a long and complex histories, some have changed their diet multiple times without good long term results, some have had, in my opinion professional opinion, preventable surgery and some are a combination of all of these.
As Dietitians we do not tell you what to do and say you have been naughty, which I think a lot of people are afraid of. We educate you on how food affects YOUR body and support you over time to make changes to your eating. This is such a powerful thing for you to know and participate in. In my opinion seeing a Dietiitian is the best thing you can do for your health so you can live the life you want to.

Dietitians Week
March 20-26th is Dietitians Week, where we celebrate our profession and raise awareness of how valuable we are to your health, well-being and quality of life.
Did you know Dietitians improve lives?
We eat muliple times a day, every day of our lives, therefore the foods we eat have a huge effect on our physical and mental health.
As a preventative health care measure, keeping your diet in check is much easier, more enjoyable, informative, rewarding, life-enhancing, as well as more time and cost-effective in the long term than managing chronic diseases such as heart disease or diabetes, which involve attending specialist appointments (endocrinologists, cardiologists etc. as well as a dietitian and exercise specialist) and taking medications, not fun or cheap at all!
Whether it is beating your personal best in your sport, being able to enjoy travelling in your retirement, running after your grandchildren, staying strong and independent whilst you age or managing your health condition, Dietitians can help you achieve it.
